Aircraft Safety
Last reviewed 2 August 2026
No flight is worth compromising safety. If conditions are not right, we do not fly, and you are never out of pocket for that decision.
Who operates your flight
Your flight is operated by Bekaa Air, who holds the Air Operator's Certificate issued by CASA. They are responsible for the aircraft, the crew and the conduct of the flight, and operate under an approved safety management system.
Vantage arranges your charter and is your point of contact throughout.
Pilots
Flights are flown by commercially licensed pilots who meet the operator's currency and recency requirements, and who undergo recurrent training and checking under the operator's approved system.
Aircraft and maintenance
The Robinson R44 and Airbus AS350 are maintained to the manufacturer's schedule and are released to service by a licensed engineer.
Each aircraft is inspected before the first flight of the day and between flights as required.
Weather
We fly to conservative limits. Low cloud, strong wind, poor visibility or forecast thunderstorms will delay or cancel a flight.
The pilot in command makes that call and it is final. Cancelling is a normal part of operating safely in South East Queensland, not an exception.
Before you fly
You will receive a safety briefing covering seatbelts, headsets, doors, and how to approach and leave the aircraft. Please follow crew instructions at all times.
Never approach or leave a helicopter unless directed by the crew, and always stay in the pilot's view.
Weight and balance
We ask for passenger weights because helicopters have strict limits that affect performance and safety, particularly on warm days and at elevated landing sites.
This is not a formality. Please answer accurately. An aircraft loaded outside limits cannot depart.
